why grade?

To verify quality & condition... without a grade, it's just a guess. Grading can enhance both the authenticity & market value of your card. Protection for your card, keeping it in its current condition. Graded Slabs are tamper proof, insuring validity of the enclosed card.

How to Grade with Rawscoe's

We do the work for you!

bring us your card
we'll examine it & give you feedback as per the condition
we can also offer guidance on selecting the right type of card for grading
at that point, you can decide if you'd like to go ahead with the grading
together we'll fill out our Grading Form with your info & details of your card
choose which grading company you'd like to use, PSA or MNT
Rawscoe's takes it from there...we complete the specific company's paperwork, prepare the cards according to the grading company's preferences, gently wipe any fingerprints or dust off using a microfiber cloth, safely & securely package them up & ship them with tracking.

Payment is due at the time you leave your card with us.

PSA & MNT regular card $50 tax included
PSA card with an autograph $70 tax in
MNT card with an autograph $55 tax in
There is no special rate for bulk submissions

*Up-charges for higher value cards are at PSA's discretion. MNT does not up-charge.

If extra insurance is desired, we can calculate any additional cost Return times are approx 3-4 months. After grading, the cards are shipped back to Rawscoe's. We'll call or text you letting you know it's back in store & ready for pickup For our records, we video record un-boxings in-house.

making the right choice

If PSA is the choice, we'll explain PSAs service levels & how an up-charge may, or may not apply. Both PSA & MNT may need to charge additional shipping insurance for the return of your higher valued graded card.

why choose psa

Leading industry standard, Brings the highest value on the secondary market Cards may be subject to up-charges.

Traditional, standard slab label Cards are given a grade out of 10 according to the quality of the 4 criteria (corners, edges, surface & centering).

PSA uses whole numbers for their grades (ie 8 or 9 not 8.5) Slabs include a QR code, which provides you with population reports & details of how the grade was determined Cards are shipped to PSA Canada (currently in Halifax NS & possibly soon in Toronto ON),

from there they're sent to PSA Headquarters in California PSA is presently only accepting cards through authorized dealers, not individuals outside of the US

why choose mnt

Canadian owned & operated. Located in Waterloo, Ontario - cards are shipped directly to & from MNT. Your card never leaves Ontario. The slabs themselves are manufactured in Toronto ON MNT produces a beautiful slab label, featuring their 4-point grading system Cards are given a grade out of 10 with the 4 criteria (corners, edges, surface & centering) displayed on the label.

MNT uses whole numbers & half grades (ie 9.5) Slab labels are colour coded reflecting the assigned grade...10+ is Flawless & boasts a black refractor label, 10 is Pristine & uses a silver crackle label, 9-9.5 Mint receives a gold label, 8.5 or less receives a silver label. Certification numbers are included on the slab, which you can look up population reports (how many others of the same card has been graded with MNT & received the same grade)
